The body achieves what the mind believes!

 This week we had the opportunity to meet with Diane Grixti, a 44-year-old housewife who shared with us how fitness and healthy nutrition changed her life. 


Around a year and a half ago, Diane was obese, diabetic and was not motivated to reach any fitness goals. However she was feeling her health getting worse and knew that she had to do something about it. 

Her first step was to reach out to a nutrition advisor, where she met Susan Borg, who happens to be a great supporter of this page too. A well-balanced personal diet was planned for her and Diane started getting used to her new eating habits. 

At first it was not easy for her to adapt to so much new food which she rarely thought about including in her daily lifestyle. Slowly but surely, she started getting used to various foods and feeling its benefits. Diane admits she had to fight certain temptations at first but she had a better goal in her mind; to become healthy. She bravely managed to control her sugar cravings and kept pushing.

A few weeks passed by and Diane went for her usual visit to the doctor. She couldn’t believe her ears when the doctor looked at her and told her that after years of being diabetic, her blood levels were controlled. This news increased her determination to pursue this lifestyle so that she will be able to stop taking any medicine. Diane kept going to reach her goals and is now off all the medications she had been taking for years.


Diane felt very energetic with her sugar levels controlled and the weightloss process. It was time to introduce more exercise in her lifestyle too. She started attending various fitness sessions at Fit Stop where she was supported by Carlin Polidano and his team, especially by Walden. 



Months flew by and the day she was working so hard for finally arrived. As usual she prepared to go on the scale and measure her waistline while writing down the numbers to compare to her ideal healthy target. She was surprised to find out that not only she reached her targets but she did even better. Diane is a great example of the saying, where there is a will there is a way. 40 kg had gone away, her sugar levels were optimal and she was feeling happy more then ever. 

Today, exercise together with eating well became a great part of Diane's lifestyle. She is very committed in preparing healthy food such as salmon, chicken, steamed veg and rice not only for her but for her entire family. Going to the gym, became an activity in her life which she looks forward to instead of trying to avoid.  As we were talking, she told me: “Exercise and eating healthy became so important to me that I wish to influence the entire world to do the same. Embracing this lifestyle made me such a better person on both physical and mental levels."

We really enjoyed talking with her about the variation of food she includes in her diet and how she balances her lifestyle to blend with social events, family and friends gathering. We managed to discover her favourite treat too which is pizza. She includes such treats as well in her lifestyle to keep herself motivated instead of deprived from having a social life.
